"Natur'Art", an innovative concept based on the partnership between Torgon Tourisme and the Commune of Vionnaz as part of the festivities of the 1 August 2020, is an outdoor art exhibition. For the first edition, three internationally renowned artists marked the beginning of this new project, which welcomed three new artistst in 2021.
The work by Swiss artist LPVDA entitled “chacun son point de vue”, can be admired on the facades of a barn on the Chemin des Fours. The second work, "NéFi", by the Swiss artists' collective Tribal Cabane, is located in the same region, overlooking the Couvert communal des Vieilles in Torgon. Finally, the third and last work, "Laisser pousser", by the Swiss-German artist Simon Berger, is located at the Place du Village in Vionnaz.
THE ARTISTS
The Swiss-German artist Lukas Senn's chainsaw sculpture is located in front of the Tourist Office and represents in all its splendor the resort's mascot: Léon le Mouflon.
Fragments, a 3D scultpure created by the French artist Thomas Voillaume is located next to the soccer field on the Chemin des Fours and can be admired from different angles, with the famous Braye as a background.
ARDIF, a world-renowned street-artist, has succeeded in embellishing to perfection an old barn, located in the first contour of the Route de Torgon, in Vionnaz. A unique "visiting card" for the Commune and Torgon.
THE CONCEPT
The idea of the project was formed around a desire to create a permanent exhibition in the middle of nature accessible to all, not only in this uncertain period, but in the long term. These artistic creations were the perfect solution to maintain this long awaited national holiday while ensuring the smooth running of the event, with a minimum of risk.
Even though COVID-19 is the basis of the concept, Natur'Art is a project that will hopefully continue to grow each year, with the ultimate goal of becoming one of the resort's star attractions: a Land'Art festival, which each year will welcome new artists.
